Lofty Observation by LeccathuFurvicael Lofty Observation by LeccathuFurvicael
Wings are far too small for that body, but....I blame foreshortening?

My contribution to an art trade with Scarlet-Harlequin-N, depicting their unique creature Rajah, an Orekroark. Fascinating animal for sure! You really should go look at their work - the design alone is worth it! Quite a lot of fun to work on, and any excuse to draw feathered wings is a good one. <3 Still buffing up my skills with feathers!

Media: 2B .05 Mechanical pencil, 6B wood pencil, on Bristol Vellum paper
Time: ~4-5 hours

I keep thinking I commented on this but I think I close the window before I click send D: bad tiredness. I'm always so overjoyed to see orekroark drawn by other people, though I realize I must torture them with the strange anatomy. I'm loving what you've done with Rajah, in particular, his back feet and tail support ^u^ and his soulless eye staring down from the skies. And yes, we can use perspective of the wings ;) The bend in the upper one makes him look like he about to fold up and dive upon some lowly creature. And... it makes me realize I have never actually drawn my own orekroark flying D: !!
Great fun though, I would be happy if ever we do another to give you more feather wings to draw!

It would be awesome to see your Orekroarks in flight - there are a few flying poses in your sketches, but nothing larger at least.

I am so glad that you enjoy your drawing. It was a good experience! We'll have to do this again at some point. : ) Thank you. ^^
